SJMC Japan Team presents work on Friday
SJMC Japan Team at Takeshita Street

Now that all members of the SJMC Japan Team have returned home to Texas safely, they are gearing up for final presentation day, and you’re invited!

Students will share their mini-documentaries, highlights of the stories they wrote and insights about what the SJMC Japan program meant to them starting at 10 a.m. Friday, June 30, in Old Main Room 320.

Team members will share videos and talk about their experiences in Tokyo, Kamakura and Kyoto, and share insights about visiting Meiji Shrine, Daibutsu (The Great Buddha), Kiyomizu-dera, a Japanese baseball game and more.

They’ll also talk about the connections they made with Japanese students from Rikkyo University and Chuo Gakuin University, and what they learned by visiting the Tokyo bureau office of the Wall Street Journal, Time Out Tokyo and the Kyoto Shimbun.

They also had free time to explore Japanese shopping districts, cuisine and nightlife.

Family, relatives, friends, classmates, roommates, co-workers and anyone interested are invited to join us for a fun day where team members will remember and relive their time in Japan.

Join us to meet the fantastic team that wrote daily blog posts, daily Instagram stories, Instagram reels and feature stories about Tokyo and Kyoto and personal travel essays.

Hope to see you on Friday!
