About

SJMC Japan is a program designed for students in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University to develop and improve their content creation skills in feature writing, multimedia and social media. All majors will also be considered for inclusion in the program. Students will explore Tokyo, Hiroshima and Kyoto and create daily blog posts, feature stories, personal travel essays and multimedia content on social media. By documenting their experiences, they will also add published work to their portfolios.

Fees

Tuition Fee (six undergraduate credit hours or six graduate credit hours): $2,137.

Program Fee: $3,340*
*subject to reduction depending on number of students

Timeline

Oct. 15 – Applications open
Oct. 15 – Education Abroad Fair in LBJ Grand Ballroom (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
Jan. 31 – $200 application fee deadline
Feb. 15 – $300 program deposit deadline
April 1 – Post-decision material due for students
May – Remainder of program fee and tuition and fees due
