Hi, y’all! My name is Azuli Rodriguez, and I’m a senior majoring in digital media innovation with minors in art and honors studies at Texas State University. I am from the outskirts of San Antonio, and my favorite part of the city is all the art and culture it has to offer.
I’ve never traveled abroad before, so getting to see Japan is nerve-wracking and also probably the most excited I’ve ever been! Being able to visit has always been an item on my bucket list. More so, I can’t wait to learn more about the history, culture and media (not to mention enjoying all the foods).
My hope with this trip is to expand my content creation skills, as editing and writing are always things I think I can improve upon. More so, I want to spend the time I can inspiring my art. Recently learning the history of comics and manga has pushed me to research more about the manga creation process in Japan as well as trying to draw my own comics!
