As a visitor, you want to be able to explore the city life of Tokyo and go on a late-night adventures with your friends or by yourself. The nightlife here in Tokyo is more lively than it is in the United States.

Some might say that Japanese nightlife is not “foreigner friendly” and will not compare to the U.S nightlife. However, experiencing nightlife in Tokyo is the opposite of the U.S. nightlife as it is more vibrant and more diverse when it comes to different music genres such as Hip-Hop, Pop, Latin, K-pop, J-pop, and more!

Nightlife in Tokyo feels like a dream: a dream that you wouldn’t want to wake up from as certain cities light up with brightness from billboard screens. One place in Tokyo that has a vibrant nightlife feel would be Shibuya, because there is never a dull moment in the city and every place that you go to is always going to have you dance the night away and live your life to the fullest.

What to expect in Shibuya

Shibuya is considered one of the best places to have a great experience. During a Saturday night in Shibuya, you will expect lots of people to be out after 8 p.m. and can smell the aroma of food lingering in the air, as well as see people dressed up and ready to enjoy their adventures in Shibuya. When you come here, there are many nightclubs and restaurants to go to, so that your experience in Shibuya can be exciting and whimsical. It is helpful to use Google Maps so that you can properly navigate around Shibuya without getting lost, and it can avoid long-distance walking so that your feet won’t get tired before entering the restaurants or nightclubs.

Shibuya fashion

Walking around Shibuya at night, you will see all the unique and fashionable styles that are not common in the United States. The moment you arrive in Shibuya, it will instantly feel like a private fashion show as you see people with different styles of clothing whether it be street fashion or elegant fashion. It will make you think that you are not dressed for the occasion, but in reality, nobody in Shibuya cares about how you dress and are mainly interested in their adventurous plans for the night.

Shibuya has many fashion districts, so if you plan shopping in Shibuya for party clothes, then I would recommend Án MILLE, a shop that features very fashionable clothing that can be worn day or night. Now with your new outfit, you are ready to take on the Shibuya nightlife!

Nightclubs in Shibuya

In Shibuya, you will run across many nightclubs. However, there is one specific nightclub in Shibuya that will catch your eye which is called Laurel Tokyo. This nightclub gives the best energetic experience with which U.S. nightclubs cannot compare. This club plays all kinds of music such as Hip-Hop, R&B, J-pop, K-pop and more. Laurel Tokyo will definitely give you the best nightlife experience Shibuya has to offer when it comes to nightclubs, especially since all of the Japanese citizens and tourists are always super nice to you, and everyone treats each other with respect. Especially since Japan itself is considered a safe country, even at night you won’t feel uneasy or uncomfortable and walk around knowing no harm will come your way.

Always have a watch while you are out during the nighttime!

Though it may sound strange and unusual, whenever you go out, please keep checking the time throughout the night. The reason why is that many of the nightclubs in Japan are sometimes underground with no windows, so you won’t know what time it is outside because the building lacks any sort of view of the outside. Though it is fun to stay out later than midnight, just know that in Japan the sun starts rising about 4:30 a.m., which is the time that the clubs start closing. So, just a heads up for those having an interest in staying out past midnight in Japan: You will most likely walk out of the building with the sun already out bright and early!

Overall, nightlife culture in Japan is an experience everyone should have if they come to visit. Shibuya will give you that excitement in nightlife culture and will truly make your time there a memorable adventure.

After you expose yourself to nightlife culture in Japan, you will never want to experience any other nightlife culture again!
