Looking for a store in Hiroshima that has a little bit of everything?
One thing you might not expect is that Edion Tsutaya Electrics, a three-story building located just next to Hiroshima Station, offers a wide variety of items. Besides Minamoa, situated nearby, this is the closest thing to a mall in the area. The store mostly sells electric appliances, but they also sell plenty of books, beauty products, toys and more. Designed with a comforting aesthetic in mind, most of the building is in wood, decorated with plants all around and artwork situated around some of the elevators.
The first floor: phones, beauty products and a standout restaurant
The first floor, also known as a “self-improvement floor” has plenty of tenants housed to make it more like a shopping mall. On this floor, you can purchase beauty products for men and women in one section, as well as bikes in the next section over, called motovelo.
Looking for a plant to put in your office for decoration? Well, check out verdeCHIOSCO near the main entrance to buy some flowers. Trying to get the new iPhone or purchase some accessories for it? Most of this floor fills the brim with mobile phone-related items.
There is also a small lounge in the center of the floor, as well as many books and magazines scattered around, if you wish to take a break and read. However, Le Garage Fresh Food Market is the standout on this floor to many visitors as it serves many delicious burgers, waffles, desserts and more. There is also a deli just next to Le Garage if people in Hiroshima want to go grocery shopping.
The second floor: hobbies in reading and gaming
The second floor is much more of a hobby-based section. It consists of way more books, including manga, magazines, as well as a more extensive library section. Visitors may not always find what they are looking for, but it is a relaxing way to pass the time for many.
Somewhat close to the entrance of the floor is a section with merchandise such as Mario and Pokémon plushies related to popular video games. An SNES console that people can play on for about 10 minutes before passing it on to the next person is also within that same area, and it plays games such as Super Mario World.

On the same floor are also different sections where you can buy watches and clocks, cameras, PCs, TVs, audio devices and more. If someone is a big fan of using pen and paper, they can enjoy a section dedicated to stationery.
Finally, there is a Starbucks for visitors who wish to order a coffee during a meeting or while working. Starbucks in Japan has a smaller drink size than the tall cup, and the menu is a lot more streamlined, so there’s less variety than in the U.S., though this does simplify ordering significantly.
Third floor: house appliances and fun for the kids
For the third floor, there’s a consistent theme of living supplies as well as fun activities for kids. The floor has cooking appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, frying pans and more.
There’s also dedicated sections for lighting, cleaning, healthcare and laundry. Around the front area of this floor, there’s an entire section of things for kids to do. There are some juvenile-level books, LEGO sets, toys, games and so forth. There is also a small section on this floor where small cute robots in a pen will greet you and do little happy dances.
Finally, from noon to 9 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays, and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays, kids and adults can take English classes at English Conversation AEON to improve their language proficiency.
If you’re staying near Hiroshima Station for a short time, and you want to find a convenient store that has a little bit of everything, add Edion Tsutaya Electrics to your bucket list.
Just as a precaution, you cannot take photos inside the store, so if you plan on taking pictures of their products, do it after you buy them. Regardless, check it out if you have the time, and chances are you’ll feel like you are at home when you are there.
