Hello everyone, I am Peyton Bayne Long from Houston. I major in electronic media at Texas State with a minor in pop culture studies. Visiting Japan has been on my bucket list as long as I can remember. I first became interested in Japan through media such as Digimon, Gundam, Shin Megami Tensei and Final Fantasy, which I watched and played as a kid. I later gained an interest in Japanese history and architecture.
My favorite part of traveling is exploring freely and admiring historical buildings. I’m looking forward to trying authentic Japanese food, especially sashimi and pastries, and looking through the shops. I also am interested to see the how prevalent Nintendo Switch 2 advertisements will be since we’ll be in Tokyo during its global release. Being one of the students on the trip is such an honor, and I can’t wait to make memories I’ll treasure forever.
