My name is Sara Shields, and I’m an associate professor of instruction in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University. This will be my second time teaching a faculty-led Education Abroad program, so I’m very excited to be a part of this experience. I’ll be teaching the Mobile Storytelling in the Outdoors course where students will be creating photo and video content for our dedicated Instagram account. I’m very excited to be traveling abroad for my second time with my colleague, Gilbert D. Martinez, as well as 23 students.
I’ve been teaching in the digital media innovation program in the School of Journalism at Texas State since 2016. I’ve taught courses that range from web design to video production to social media. I’m excited to bring my knowledge and skills about photography, videography and social media to my Mobile Storytelling in the Outdoors course.
