Hello! My name is Austin Barwegen, and I am a senior at Texas State University. I am currently studying advertising and am looking for a job that might allow me to travel around the world. I grew up in a tiny town called Herscher, Illinois, surrounded by cornfields. I grew up with no expectations of ever leaving, but here I am going to Japan. I am very excited to visit Japan as it is something I have always wanted to do. Both my parents have lived there so it’s now my turn to visit.
I have never traveled outside the U.S. so this will be a new experience for me that I am looking forward to. What I’m most looking forward to is exploring the cities, food and culture. I recently got into photography, and I am looking forward to venturing around Japan taking photos of everything.
