Hi! My name is Brady Hart, and I’m from Lake Charles, Louisiana. I major in electronic media at Texas State with a minor in applied sociology. I’ve always wanted to visit Japan but never had the opportunity to. I’ve seen videos of people visiting, and I fall asleep almost every night to people driving in the infamous Tokyo rain. Once I heard there was an Education Abroad experience happening in Japan, I knew I had to go.
These past few years have been extremely painful for me due to personal struggles. I feel a trip like this will give me a new view on life. Japan is the birthplace of anime that has changed the world. Many anime programs have helped people during dark periods of their life, including myself, and I am extremely excited to experience anime in its place of origin.
My career goal is to be a journalist. I’ve thought a lot about living abroad, so this will definitely be a great learning experience. I’m most looking forward to immersing myself in the culture and learning more about the history of Japan. I also am looking forward to purchasing manga for me and my brother who is adamant on me getting him souvenirs on this trip. I’m sure my peers are as excited as me, and in the words of my favorite anime intro, “Together we will find everything that we’re looking for”!
