Hey, guys, my name is Cadyn Perkins, and I am currently about to go into my last semester of college as a senior. I am pursuing a degree in digital media innovation with a concentration in sports media and a minor in innovation and entrepreneurship. With one more semester left, I am super excited to wrap up my education at Texas State (maybe even a little nervous) and see what the future of my career has in store.
Originally, I am from a small town called Cedar Park, which is only 20 minutes outside of Austin, Texas (so I usually just say I’m from Austin). I have a lot of family who either went to Texas State or are from San Marcos, so I am definitely not new to the area. Thinking about leaving San Marcos is kinda sad, but I am super excited for what’s in store. When it comes to future goals, I hope to work in the social media field. More specifically, I want to work for a marketing firm where I get to work with many different companies.
This study abroad trip really stood out to me because Japan has been on my bucket list since I was 7 years old. Traveling the world is the one thing I promised myself I would continue to do throughout my whole life. I have always loved sushi and wanted to experience the culture, so being able to also explore more in media while being there was a huge win-win. I am super excited to share my journey with not only everyone going with me but all of y’all!
