Hi! My name is Taylor Dayne Carrasco, and I’m a senior majoring in journalism and digital media innovation at Texas State University. I’m from Monahans, Texas, a small town I lived in for 18 years – which makes this upcoming trip even more exciting.
In my free time, I love to watch movies, read or watch sports. I am so excited to attend a Japanese baseball game! My favorite baseball team is the Los Angeles Dodgers, and I hope to work with them one day as a sports reporter/broadcaster. However, I would love to work with any baseball or football team. Sports has always been a big part of my family, and as a past sports player, I want to continue to support and shine light on athletes.
A trip to Japan has always been on the top of my bucket list, and when I discovered it was an option for SJMC students, I knew I had to take this opportunity. I am so grateful for this chance to learn about Japan’s culture and gain skills for my future journalistic career. I cannot wait to experience this journey as a Texas State student with big dreams.
